Application Administration & Support

The City of Chicago Office of the City Clerk contracted Sofbang to perform application management and support for their city sticker sales application suite (SAS). The applications were developed by Sofbang as custom WebLogic applications for vehicle and daily parking permits. The applications include online, over the counter, mail in and third party sales. The SAS also includes managing the sticker post sales activities including editing of records, annual renewal notices, and inventory management. Sofbang provided application management and support on a 24/7 basis which was critical during the peak renewal season.

A major airport was in need of improving their billing processes by moving from a highly manual system using Excel spreadsheets to an automated system. Airport billing is based on billing instructions which in some cases are very complex formulas. They having recurring charges that are the same each month and activity based charges based on level of activity at the airport.

Evolution of Sales Management System

The project started as migration from a mainframe application to a web server based application. Each year the sales management system changed and had grown into a comprehensive sales management system.

WebLogic Migration

City of Chicago had Sofbang develop their City Sticker web based application utilizing WebLogic 8.1 technology. There were a number of applications in the sales application suite and they all needed to be migrated to the WebLogic 9.2 technology. One application was in the WebLogic integration (WLI) technology while the rest were in the WebLogic Server (WLS) technology.
